Underpinning the physics underlying the mechanics of complex systems at the microscopic scale, and upscaling to industrial/geological scales remain challenging. Focus of Fracmeet 2024 is to discuss the recent developments and future challenges in the upscaling process from the point of view of statistical and nonlinear physics.
